ET Anderson // Director of Maintenance
Alpha Whiskey, L.L.C. is an aircraft leasing entity based at Emporia, KS that began its run four years ago. In November 2009, they had a Falcon 50EX delivered and ET Anderson, Director of Maintenance, flies the aircraft on average 240-280 hours internationally. Prior to delivery, West Star Aviation preformed the pre-purchase. As a satisfied customer, ET Anderson has continued to bring the Falcon back for additional work. West Star Aviation has performed a 4 and 4A+ inspection and along with the inspection, all fuel planks and several other squawks were completed. More recently, West Star Aviation completed multiple jobs on the Falcon 50EX, including an N# change, divan install, woodwork refinish, service bulletin for dual nav lights, and some other minor jobs. In November 2011, Alpha Whiskey plans on returning to West Star Aviation to have a 2C inspection completed along with a gear overhaul.
ET Anderson Stated, “My initial experience with West Star Aviation came while researching and compiling a thorough list of items and procedures to be accomplished during a pre-purchase evaluation of a prospective Falcon 50EX. Prior to making a call to West Star I had contacted four other Falcon Maintenance providers. When I called West Star at East Alton, IL I spoke with Mr. Eric Kujawa, West Star’s Falcon and Gulfstream program manager. Eric’s thorough knowledge of Falcon aircraft, and what he felt would provide a comprehensive look at a Falcon 50EX, rivaled all the other shops with which I had spoken. Over the course of several weeks, Eric was always available to answer my many telephone calls fielding a list of questions. During our conversations Eric had mentioned should I choose a shop other than West Star for the pre-purchase work, that he would still be available to help out any way he could working with the other shops.
My prior maintenance shop experience with a Cessna Citation 650 created angst, frustration and a well founded concern that many of the mechanics were less than competent. My choice of West Star Aviation at East Alton, IL was encouraged by the exchange of information like none I had experienced before. Eric had interest, knowledge and was forthright. I truly felt that I could trust him and his organization. From planning the work scope and input date, to having the project lead, Ryan Gibbs, fly with the aircraft and me for the systems evaluation on our way to East Alton, that feeling was only enhanced. As with anything mechanically complex as a jet aircraft, anomalies do and did arise both unknown as well as unplanned, all of which were handled smoothly. This can only be the result when you have smart, interested and involved oversight of the details combined with an excellent, energetic and capable group of mechanics and staff. Scott Koehler was the project manager on this pre-purchase and related inspections, as well as for our subsequent return. The second visit was for registration number change, divan installation and minor maintenance. Scott did an outstanding job throughout all aspects of both projects, delivering a squawk-free airplane each time.
Having the ability at any time to reach a knowledgeable Falcon maintenance person, who truly does care about their customers, with a smart, enthusiastic and pleasant group of mechanics who obviously enjoy where they work and what they do, there is no question I will return to West Star Aviation.”
